New Editor-in-Chief takes over

The first issue of the Journal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons was published in October, 1995. Editorial was written by Dr. A. K. Nandy, past Secretary and President of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons. I am quoting the first two paragraphs from the write up of Dr. Nandy "This issue heralds the birth of the official organ of the Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons. Since the Association is now thirty, the gestation period has been rather long. With its publication, we feel a lot happier today.
A journal is the flagship of any nationally based academic forum. A large volume of relevant information and many unique experiences of our colleagues deserving much wider attention are being wasted in the absence of a suitable vehicle for documentation." Dr. Subir Kumar Chatterjee and his editorial team took care in the neonatal phase of our Journal and our members are grateful to his team.
Next phase of the Journal showed speedy improvement under the vibrant leader ship of Dr. Devendra Kumar Gupta. The Journal got a changed look and started getting National and International recognition.
I express my sincerest thanks to Dr. Gupta and his team for their excellent job.
Our Journal is indexed now in Pub Med. The citation numbers are steadily increasing and the Journal has got an impact factor recently. All these have been possible because of untiring efforts of Dr. K. L. N. Rao and his energetic editorial team. I am grateful to Dr. Rao and his team.
I express my sincerest thanks to the members of our Association for giving me the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief of our prestigious Journal. We have got a dynamic executive committee of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons. I seek the support of all the members of our Association for further progress of our mouthpiece and welcome the suggestions from my colleagues.
